This getaway in Seville, is perfect for those that wish to discover the Andalusian capital and its secrets. Seville is the birthplace of flamenco, like many other cities in Andalucía, and it also famous for its incredible architecture and its gastronomy. Founded by the Romans, Seville was of great importance during the Muslim and later Christian eras, its golden age being when it was made a port for trade with America. From there, developed the Seville’s splendor to grow into the city that it is today.

If you enjoy architecture and discovering magnificent buildings, you cannot miss Seville’s Cathedral. It is the third largest in the world and the largest Gothic-style Cathedral. Inside, you can see different architectural styles. From Renaissance style to Arabic since its bell tower once belonged to an Arab mosque as a minaret. Just opposite the Cathedral, you can visit the Alcázar of Seville, the former palace/fortress of the kings of Spain.

To relax there is nothing better than getting lost in Seville’s parks. The Plaza de España is a magical place. Built for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929, the plaza was the pavilion respresenting Spain. Other gardens that are not to be missed are those of the Alcázar.

In addition to the Casa Pilatos, El Archivo de Indias, the Santa Cruz district, and Triana district, the museum of fine arts and the archaeological museum are also very interesting.

Jerez de la Frontera is close to Seville. The gastronomy and wine is very significant in Jerez, and for this reason we recommend a day trip to visit its wineries and taste its world famous sherry wines.

We hope that you enjoy your getaway in Seville.
