Your guide will share insightful stories about the history, culture, and traditions of the area, while also allowing you time to explore Biarritz at your own pace. A specially selected lunch with outstanding views has been arranged for the group. In the afternoon, you will continue your journey to the Dune du Pilat, the highest sand dune in Europe. From the summit, you will be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views over the Atlantic Ocean, the surrounding pine forests, and the entrance to Arcachon Bay. You will begin by exploring the storybook village of Saint-Émilion, with its cobbled streets, golden limestone buildings, and timeless atmosphere. A scenic drive through the surrounding vineyards offers excellent photo opportunities and sweeping views over some of Bordeaux’s most prestigious terroirs. The day continues with a visit to a charming family-owned château, where you will be welcomed by the winemaker and introduced to the passion and craftsmanship behind each bottle. At lunchtime, enjoy a relaxed yet elegant “picnic chic” experience at the estate, paired with its own wines in a truly authentic setting. In the afternoon, you will return to Bordeaux, where the rest of the day is yours to relax and explore the city at your own pace.
Day 9 - Dordogne
We leave Bordeaux and travel east into the beautiful Dordogne Valley for a guided visit of the medieval town of Sarlat. This golden-stone town, with its winding alleyways, hidden squares, and beautifully preserved Renaissance architecture, is one of the most charming in the region. The day continues with a delicious lunch featuring local specialities, followed by a relaxing cruise along the Dordogne River aboard a traditional gabarre boat, offering a unique perspective of the valley’s stunning landscapes.
