Castles and wine are the two icons of this region. This Ribera del Duero tasting tour brings together stone and vine, history and flavor, offering an authentic and relaxed way to experience the true soul of Spain. The tour departs from Madrid. Please contact us if you need to start from a different place.

  • Have lunch inside one of Castilla’s oldest castles, where the stone walls still hold centuries of stories.
  • Taste bold, elegant red wines while looking out over two of Spain’s most striking castles rising from the landscape.
  • Enjoy 3 very different wineries, each with a particular way to understand the landscape and the wines of Ribera del Duero .
  • Experience Ribera del Duero without rush; just good wine, open views, and genuine moments.
  • Discover a Spain that feels real and unfiltered, far from the usual routes, where traditions are still part of everyday life.

Stop #1 - First wine state
This first winery will suprise you with its architecture and the friendliness of the local guide. An explanation about the region and the winery project is followed by a tasting session
Stop #2 - Second wine State
The tour continues in Peñafiel, home to one of Spain´s mots impressive castles. Here you will enjoy the wines of Protos, one of the best wine brands in Spain. But your stop in Peñafiel will have more surprises: you’ll explore Plaza del Coso, a charming square that is also a bull ring! with amazing views of the castle above.
Stop #3 - 3rd winery
The next stop is another beautiful winery with spectacular views. During a guided visit, you’ll learn about the winemaking process and about the winery’s special focus on native yeasts, an essential part of their philosophy. These tiny, naturally occurring elements influence the wine’s flavor and character. Though not visible, their role is crucial in shaping the wine’s final expression, and you’ll taste the results during a carefully selected wine tasting
Stop #4 - Lunch
Get ready for lunch in a historic castle perched on a hill, with breathtaking views. Even from the outside, the castle is impressive, reflecting centuries of history. Inside, a carefully prepared meal of local specialties awaits, perfectly paired with the region’s finest wines. With its remarkable setting, centuries of history, and captivating atmosphere, the castle offers a truly unforgettable experience, a unique way to end the tour, surrounded by the beauty and heritage of Ribera del Duero.
17:30-18:00 Back to Madrid

Reviews

The tour was exceptional, and we’re very grateful to Marta for recommending it to us. We were hoping for a bit of history, and the castles of Peñafiel and Curiel left us speechless. Ariadne was a fantastic guide.
