DAY 1 - Madrid – Trujillo - Cáceres
Be picked up from your hotel by your friendly local guide for your private tour to get you to Andalusia. The day starts with the first stop in a fortified city with a coffee break in its beautiful castle. The trip continues to the city of Trujillo, the birthplace of the famous “discoverers” of the new world that returned with their fortunes that made Trujillo an architectural gem. Before lunch, you will stop at a winery to taste the local wines of this region of Spain. You will discover the delicious gastronomy from Extremadura with a quality lunch at a local restaurant of Trujillo. The day ends in Cáceres, one of the most beautiful cities of Spain also declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Get lost through its streets and you will feel as if you have gone back in time to the Middle Ages. After check-in at your elegant hotel that we have selected for tonight, you will take a walking tour through the city with your guide to enjoy the best local tapas and arguably the best ham in the world: jamón ibérico from Montanchez.
DAY 2 – Cáceres - Mérida - Seville
After your delicious hotel breakfast, we say goodbye to Cáceres and leave with good memories of this beautiful city. Soon we will discover another gem: Mérida. This route to Seville is known as the “Ruta de la plata” (Silver Route), one of the most important routes of commerce in Roman times. Gold was transported from Las Médulas in the area of León on this path until it reached Seville. Mérida is one of the best preserved ancient Roman cities in the world. Its archaeological ensemble is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers extraordinary examples of Roman architecture in an excellent state of conservation, including the Roman theatre, the aqueduct and the Roman bridge. For lunch, we have selected a restaurant that interprets the local cuisine of Extremadura with a modern twist. Depending on your interests, an additional stop can be made on the route to Seville or we can make our way directly to the Andalusian capital. After check-in at your beautiful hotel, you will discover the gastronomy of Seville on a tapas tour through the famous Santa Cruz district.
After breakfast at your hotel, you will have a city tour through Seville with your local tour guide including entrance to the famous Giralda Tower and the Alcázar. You can decide to extend your stay in Seville, or return to Madrid via high-speed train, or continue your trip in Andalusia to enjoy Ronda, Malaga, Granada or Cordoba
