On this 3rd day of the tour we have planned a private tour to Toledo and the famous wind mills of Don Quixote. Your friendly local guide will pick you up from your accommodation at 08:30. The first stop of the day is the picturesque city of Toledo. Toledo is known as the city of 3 cultures since all 3 cultures (Catholics, Muslims and Jewish) lived at the same time in Toledo. The ancient capital of Spain before it became too small, you will admire the breathtaking views of the old city and take a leisurely stroll along the old Imperial Cityy. The tour includes a visit two of Toledo’s iconic monuments: the cathedral (for many experts Spain´s best cathedrals) and the synagogue. You will then travel to La Mancha, a region that was immortalized by Cervantes in his novel, Don Quijote. Enjoy a traditional manchego meal near the famous windmills and enjoy the stunning views of the countryside and the windmills.. The itinerary ends with a guided tour of a local family-owned winery
DAY 4 - Ribera del Duero and Salamanca
The 4th day of this private tour through Spain and Portugal will head to Castilla Leon and wine country. Our wine experts have curated a special day with visits to 2 exceptional wineries that showcase the best of the region’s wine-making. You will enjoy underground medieval cellars and a chateau-style winery that boasts an innovative approach to wine-making, resulting in a range of premium wines. The tour ends with a traditional Castilian style lunch at one of the estate’s private rooms. You will be able to gaze at the oak barrels a few meters away from your table. Your driver will take you to the breathtaking city of Salamanca, a Unesco site, known for its rich cultural and historical legacy. Salamanca is one of Spain´s top university cities and holds one of the country´s oldest universities. We are sure you will fall in love with its Plaza Mayor! You will have free time this evening to walk through its cobbled stones and enjoy Salamanca´s vibes!
DAY 5 – Douro Valley
Today the itinerary continues in Portugal! Your driver will pick up up in Salamanca and take you to the Douro Valley. This is one of the most beautiful wine regions in the world and today you will be guided to explore its breathtaking beauty. You will visit to fantastic Quintas and enjoy a traditional lunch at one of them. You will be driven to Porto to end this fantastic day.
